Invitation
IIT Delhi, in collaboration with The Fiber Society, welcomes you to The Fiber Society
2026 Fall Conference, to be held in Delhi, India, from October 14–16, 2026. Please save the dates and plan
to join us in Delhi.
Established in 1941, The Fiber Society is a non profit professional and scientific association dedicated to advancing fiber related research through its biannual technical meetings and conferences. Fibers have shaped human history for millennia, and their capacity to drive innovation remains immense: high performance and sustainable fibers are now central to tackling global textile challenges, from lowering environmental footprints and conserving resources to building resilient, ethical supply chains.
This conference will provide a focused forum for scientists, engineers, and industry professionals to link fiber innovation with sustainability goals, draw inspiration from diverse textile heritages, and examine how advanced fibrous materials can respond to the evolving needs of societies, industries, and markets around the world.
IIT Delhi, established in 1961, is one of India’s premier institutions for science and engineering, with a strong legacy in cutting edge research and innovation, including pioneering work in textile and fibre engineering. Set on a leafy 300 plus acre campus in the heart of Delhi, it combines state of the art laboratories and modern infrastructure with quiet residential and green spaces that encourage collaboration and reflection. Excellent metro and road connectivity make it easy for visitors to explore the city’s rich cultural landscape—from UNESCO World Heritage sites and historic monuments to vibrant markets, museums, and diverse culinary districts—creating an inspiring setting for an international conference on fibers, textiles, and sustainable innovation.
Recognizing the rapidly expanding opportunities in fiber science and sustainable textiles, The Fiber Society 2026 Fall Conference in Delhi aims to bring together leading researchers, industry innovators, educators, and students from around the world on a shared platform. Participants will present and discuss recent research breakthroughs, emerging technologies, and advanced applications in fibers and fibrous materials, with particular emphasis on sustainability, functionality, and circularity. The conference will foster rich exchanges of ideas and global perspectives, helping to shape future directions for research, education, and industrial practice across the broader field of fibers, textiles, and related material systems.
With warm regards,
